Virginia Turner Scholarship Fund Standards, Policies and Procedures
Purpose:
The purpose of the PLBC Book Scholarship from the Virginia Turner Scholarship Fund is to financially assist students in pursuit of post-secondary education based on their academic achievement between ages of 17-22
The Promised Land Baptist Virginia Turner Scholarship is:

Awarded to high school seniors entering a college/university or trade school seeking a degree or certification program
Awarded to students currently enrolled in a post-secondary program
Renewable to students enrolled in a post-secondary program who previously received a book scholarship.

Eligibility Criteria:

members who are high school seniors or in their first, second, third, fourth or fifth year of a college/university or trade school seeking a degree or certification program
Must provide proof of admission to a college/university or trade school for the fall/spring
Reapplying College Students
Open to Promised Land Baptist Church students currently enrolled in college/trade school
Must have attained at least a semester grade point average of 2.7 on a 4.0 scale for the most recent semester completed
If requested must submit copy of class registration for Fall/Spring semester/session and must be enrolled in at least 12 credit hours.

Draft One Page Letter to Joint Board requesting a book scholarship by TO BE ANNOUNCED addressed to kobryant@theplbc.org
Applications must be received no later than June 30, 2021
Award Allocation Factors
Joint Board will consider an essay and the student’s active participation in one or more of the following: campus programs, church involvement, and community service.
